Replying To BreffniGuide:  "I'm amazed this website continues to allow his endless ramblings. All of his posts are loaded with his own personal opinions on lads based on his judgement of whether they are nice to him in Breffni or not."
I did not use the word pedigree I used the word quality.
By the way I retired from Breffni in 2018 my opinions are from what I have seen and like everyone else on here just opinions. Forums are to discuss and not being silly with confrontation because you dislike the poster.
Sad world.
I expect the majority of the players don't even know me.

Maybe now the county board might realise Cavan have no pedigree and are not the team of the fifties and forties. Stop thinking you have a divine right to be classed as a top team.

The quality is there, learning how to use them and work with them is another thing."

To be fair, it's mostly the Cork man. And we all saw how they got ahead of themselves on the back of one (referee inspired) victory.

There was more than him calling for Mickey's head, embarrassing for them. Just shows how little they know about football.

If yourself and fredtheidiot took the time to read my post you should have read it all especially the last sentence.

At no time did I look for the head of Micky for he was all ready a proven manager over in Longford.
I get on very well with him, for those that think otherwise have done so for a long time I am sure Micky will confirm that.

As for Cavan winning Ulster I was delighted especially when I watched the reaction of my wife Daughter and my lovely grandchildren it was a wonderful sight. For me it does not matter I am dammed if I do and dammed if I don't despite living in Cavan 50 years.
NOTE : I said: The quality is there, learning how to use them and work with them is another thing.

Enjoy the win it was long overdue let's hope Cavan don't have to wait another 23 years for the next.

Take care all nice to see my friend Raymond winning an all star well deserved.

Cavan need good honest genuine supporters like the quiet man who stated that Barry Cassidy the Derry ref of the ulster final was not bias in the final and he thought he had a good enough game. We really need more supporters like him as his knowledge of football is legendary and his ability to spot up and coming stars like young Gumley is unrivalled in the county. He should be brought in as a selector for the coming season.

Why the need to insult me, I never mentioned your name. But now that you have I think it is only fair that you apologise for your snide remarks towards Mickey Graham and his backroom team and indeed the Cavan players. You have been shown to have not too much of an idea about Cavan football yourself - famously picking a Cavan team where barely any of the players are on the panel. The lads have earned a bit of respect now and its about time you wound your neck in and recognised it. So man up and apologise for your conduct.

I wonder if some posters are being a bit harsh on The Quiet Man on this thread.

On occassion, I have felt he has made some valid points and picked some good teams.

Hi Sean. Fair play to you getting an abusive post like this up on hoganstand. Its not easy done. Since there has been no draw for Ulster yet its hard to say but I'm looking forward to seeing Larry Reilly, Jason Reilly, Damien Reilly and whole host of other fellas that aren't on the panel in action. I'm looking forward to seeing your 2021 best 15 players list, its always eh interesting.

Assuming the draw and format was the same again for 2021, I would see 2021 going quite predictably and as follows:

Benefitting from the new manager bounce, Tyrone put on a great attacking display to beat Cavan by 1 point in the Ulster Final, after bursting Donegal's bubble with a 1st round hammering along the way. Armagh are dished out the same beating in spite of the increasing hype and are now starting to look like the Totenham of Ulster.

Cavan coast to final much more impressively than the previous year and can hold their heads up high after a brave performance against an impressive Tyrone team. Mickey Graham's pedigree is still on the rise. Banty resigns after a 5 point defeat to Cavan.

Kerry coast to Munster, and Mayo edge past Galway in Connaught.

A lacklustre Kerry then scrape past a hungry Mayo side who control the AI Semi for the majorty of the game but are left to rue the soft early goal conceded and kicking a few too many wides.

Tyrone are humbled by the Dubs by 11 points in the other Semi and many of their supporters left disillunsioned with the naivety of their Mgmt.'s approach to not put more men behind the ball.

An unfancied Kerry then stun the Dubs in the final. Bursting out of the traps to move in a 2-4 to Nil lead after 12 minutes that the Dubs are unable to reel in and Kerry hold on by 1. A young David Clifford finally comes of age on the big stage in this particular game.

After the game Colm O' Rourke remains adamant that this defeat does not mean the Dubs should not still be split in 2 to give the likes of Meath a chance in Leinster, and the Colm Basquel's of this world a chance to start for an Inter County team.

Mickey Harte strangely resigns after 1 year as Louth manager due to a lack of continued financial backing to implement his vision from the County Board.

Just the 1 All Star for Cavan at the year end. Full back and Top Goalscorer Padraig Faulkner.

Just a few small adjustments to the above based on the actual draw:

Tyrone Management, now without the required time for ball work to liberate the Tyrone forwards, lose by 4 points to a much more complete Cavan team who know what they are about. Cavan go on to win Ulster in steely but not swashbuckling fashion beating Donegal by 1, and Monaghan 0-11 to 0-7 in a very poor final. (Banty resigns).

Having flagged to the media what he was going to do 2 weeks in advance of the game, it comes as no suprise that Mickey Graham abandons his attacking principles for one game only and puts 15 men inside the shooting D for the entirety of the Dublin Semi final (apart from a few good counter attacks) to reduce the game to a comial shambles that Mickey is not one bit sorry for.

The Dubs still find a way. Final Score = Dublin 0-11 Cavan 1-6.

The Dubs are now much more awake to the threat of an ambush than they were in their hammering of an attacking Tyrone in the Hypothetical Draw. Beating Kerry by 11 points in the final to complete 7 in row. (Colm O' Rourke resigns from RTE).

Having won a 2nd Ulster breaking the Tyrone Curse along the way and given the Dubs their biggest scare in years, Mickey Graham's stock continues to rise in every county apart from Mayo who believe he brought dishonour to the game in the semi final.

November 2021, Mickey Graham is appointed as Mayo Manager, with Dermot McCabe taking the Cavan job.

You'd better adjust that again because the ulster champions are playing the Munster champions in the AI semi final this year. So go back to the drawing board;)

So do we have to beat Tyrone Donegal Monaghan Kerry and Dublin to win it! Thought nothing could beat last year.
