Looks like 10 points will guarantee promotion now after Armagh's big win tonight agains Fermanagh. They and Roscommon have 7 points with two games to go so for Cavan to be sure of promotion they need to win their own games. Even 9 points might suffice.

We can still be relegated if we lose our final 2 games.
I think the Kildare game is a must win. It changes the entire complexion of the Roscommon game then.
We could even be playing a Ros team who are already promoted and who could be using the game to size us up ahead of a league final.

Would take a big performance for Roscommon to win in Armagh, though not beyond them. McGeeney in his 6th year with Armagh, they need to get promotion more then any other team in the Division and probaly will.
Kildare haven't shone under O Connor but won't want tier 2 football. Kevin Feely one of their better players against Laois, athletic midfielder.

We may have been relegated if League had finished as I can't of seen us gaining any points vs Kildare and Roscommon hence leaving us on 6 points with both Clare and Kildare having the head to head on us. If Westmeath beat Laois and Laois beat Fermanagh we would be heading for the drop unless we picked up points.

Replying To BreffniBlue: "If the league stops here for this season, will there be promotion and demotion in each league with current positions? There'd be too many complaints if there was promotion/demotion with rounds still to be played.
The way things are going, you could be looking at no championship, never mind league being finished. The ROI have done the best thing to try curtail the virus but the North have slipped up badly so the 6 counties and their supporters can't be let near a stadium.
Club leagues are finished for this year too..maybe a knockout championship in each county if it all clears up soon but your probably looking at minimum a couple of months before things can start getting back to normal, then everyone will need a pre-season again (clubs and counties) so the whole season might be wrote off and start afresh next year - Which would be the correct thing to do...it's only a pastime/hobby at the end of the day, its not even remotely important until people can start going back to work, schools can reopen and people can stand within 2 meters of each other

Complete and utter fabrication. Mickey has always said it is open to players. Moynagh did an interview with Colm Parkinson on the GAA Hour podcast during lockdown. He didn't sound in any rush home, and it didn't sound like McVeety was either. In fact, Moynagh said he loved the lifestyle on that side of the globe and missing football was the only thing would probably bring him home.

Replying To Breffnisbest: "The winners of Armagh and Roscommon will be promoted even if they are beaten in their final game." not strictly true but probable. if we beat roscommon , Armagh beat Clare and Westmeath beat Kildare, it will go to score difference. We need a set of improbable results to get promoted. The chances of us being relegated are greater than being promoted. So I think another season in div 2 would not be so bad sn outcome.
