There ain't too many forwards around today as good as Spillane ,or Mikey Sheehy
Or even from your ur own county Cullivan , Donal Donohoe , Steve Duggan , Gene Cusack plus many more would hold their own with any forward we have at present . Every one mentioned could take a score and make a score. Name 2 on the present side capable of that and state the last time they did it . Including the year !!

Just so I am reading your post correct are you saying club teams in Cavan would beat Division 4 teams in the national league may I ask what Cavan club teams and the division 4 teams please.

You're not reading his post correctly (surprise, surprise!!) - he said a fair few club teams, not Cavan club teams.

He's saying he likes of Corofin, Vincents, Ballyboden, Crokes would beat your average Division 4 intercounty team.

This is his post

If you think Waterford would get within 10 points of this Cavan team on any day of the week you have no business being on here talking about football. Som Div 4 teams would be beaten by a fair few club teams.

It would seem there must be invisible print for I cannot see any of the teams you cavanman47 have just printed in his post to me.

Look if individuals cannot see the issues there are there is not much point discussing it.
Maybe in a few months when we have seen some club teams we can try and discuss Cavan going forward.
18 months ago I mentioned players on here and I am not sure one of them are even within an asses roar of getting near a senior shirt, WHY IS THAT I ASK????
Can anyone tell me from the Cavan gaels club why was Paul O'Connor not called back to the set up.

Yeah how is it that Mickey Graham isn't tapping into to this wealth of knowledge at his fingertips? Makes no sense.

I think it is pretty obvious what needs to be done here.

Sean needs to be immediately put in place along side Mickey and get Dermot McCabe removed.

The man has lists of players who are not getting a chance and are better than who is there even a few dairy farmers might get a chance.

Well be critical all you like but one thing I am not that is blinkered. I don't care what club a player comes from if he is showing potential., How will you know if you ignore., Forget about these great development squads look beyond these set ups'. Before you start confronting me off course there will be some quality lads in these squads but by being in the squads should not give you an advantage over those that were not lucky to get into them. If you and others think that what is representing the county are the best available well it will be the same story twenty years from now and longer. Open the doors encourage the lads that want to reach senior level it's the only way forward.
Just think back to Enda O'Reilly Mullahoran playing a very important U21 match he was substituted by the then manager and then the manager in his wisdom decides to bring him back on to take a free that had been awarded this was the last kick of the match he missed it off course and the rest is history. Tell me truthfully had he potential to become a good quality senior player I believe he had the ability and wanted to succeed because he was for ever taking frees on the main pitch in his own time. We need players like him on the panel. Reminds me when T Carr was the manager he was trying to find a free taker he could depend on that same evening he said this we had Peter Reilly from Knockbride kicking 45s over the bar at is leisure yet the so called manager did not see him neither did his back room staff. Things like this makes me wonder do they want to succeed at all. Another player who had great potential I know prone to injury that was Paul O'Connor another lad that knew how to score but where is he today. Another lad was McClarry from the gaels who had great potential never tapped into. Might have had a temperament issue but this could have been worked on with the right people advising him.,
A lot talk about this Bailieborough lad called Agnew or Argue not sure but he is not good enough yet for he looks like he does not care BUT I say with the right people working on his physique and his fitness he could become a huge asset to Cavan but right now he is not at the standard that is required but work on him. Also C O'Reilly everyone talks about this lads ability but he too needs condition and learn about player awareness.
RHF: you think you know it all but I mentioned two Dairy farmers you like the idiot you are decided to be sarcastic surprise surprise. I did not name them yet they were oozing quality one of those was C CLarke he had huge potential for midfield but because he was a dairy farmer he left because he was unable to attend these so called bonding weekends ect. The most recent person is Barry Reilly he too is a dairy farmer and has loads of ability but no support to help him so lost to the county. Money is pumped into the seniors but the most important thing that is ignored is looking after your money earners the players and their welfare. For without them you have nothing and you will always be playing catch up. Most of us can name players but can you name them without blinkers on.

Off course if Mickey wants to see my list after the championship I will show it to him but I will not offer it to him for it's not my job to find these players. Also my opinion might be completely different to his and yours.
You call it a famous list these are your words not mine remember that.

I also draw encouragement form the fact that we lost to two of the top four teams in the country
Looks like we might be at the same level as Cork Meath and Ross
We need a strategic plan to get up to the second tier of Donegal Tyrone Mayo and Kerry and hope that if and when we do that Dublin will be past their sell by date and will have come back to the level below
The other major concern is will we be able to grow a pair to win tight games to get back to Div one

Sean, all of those players you named have been on the county panel at some level.

McClarey is in the US and has been for years. He played for Cavan seniors the year before he left.
Paul O'Connor was on the panel under McGleenan and couldn't nail down a starting place.
Barry Reilly has been on the panel twice, is a very good footballer, but I think it was his decision not to commit these past few years.
Argue is on the panel so will be doing the strength and conditioning work.
Enda O'Reilly won't be carried for frees only, and I don't know if he has the pace for intercounty.
C O'Reilly is on the panel.

There's nobody new, who is being ignored, in that list.

yes but we didn't play against Tyrone the same way that Cork and Roscommon played against Tyrone and I am asking why.

What kind of encouragement do you draw from the performance against Donegal and then Tyrone 2 of the top 4 teams as you say.
Were you happy with the performance?

There's a context to what I wrote about losing to Donegal and Tyrone which obviously went over your head No surprise there

I draw encouragement from the realisation that we were beaten by two of the top four teams at the moment and that we seem to making progress To be in the immediate chasing pack will do for now even though the manner of our capitulation to Tyrone was hard to take

This doesn't mean anything unless we continue to progress so hopefully we will More determination to fight for the jersey when the pressure comes on is something we always had To be honest the Tyrone game is the first time I saw us walking away from a challenge as willingly for a long time That hurt all of us I think

Why don't you name your players Sean? We all have opinions of who we would like to see on county panel and you shouldn't be afraid to name them because they are only opinions after all! I would love to see Barry reilly from kingscourt on because I think he has the skill , football brain he is on excellent free taker, but he can't commit due to work ! Joe dillion is on other! Fergal Flanagan! Kevin Meehan! Paddy carrol good defender! Conor smith killygarry! Injured ! Killian the gunner should have been starting ! But these are just my opinions and nobody has to agree with me this is a discussion board! Put your opinions out Sean.
