Anyone fancy taking a stab at what the starting 15 will be for the first game? There'll be a few interesting names on that team sheet I'd guess

It would be very hard to know what team will appear, it's great to see argue and g smith and Kevin tierney back and Tomas galligan and Niall mckiernan and the likes of Paul graham in, exiting times ahead with a cavan man in charge too, best of luck to Mickey and management team and entire panel of players.

Good to see a few lads back. A few others not committing a nd Conor Bradley in France for college.

A shame Conor Smith Killygarry did his cruciate in club championships. He would have been featuring no doubt.

It's a stronger panel I believe than we have had in a while, any word on Liam Buchanan?

It will need to be strong for Division 1. Buchanan training i think.

Any word on Rory Dunne? He didn't play County in 2018 to let injuries clear.

Shame about Paul Smith, he's exactly the type of player we need in with Cavan.

Where is the panel of players that are supposed to be in. Can someone post them here. The McKenna cup is a complete waste of time energy and money.

He will be able to combine both. All Ireland Semi in mid February. Anthony Cunningham was in same position with Garrycastle and Galway hurlers.

Serious hunger showed. Hopefully that can be brought into the Cavan team. Well done Mickey Graham.

Congratulations to him and his club, I was talking to him Thursday and he said it's seven nights a week at the moment. I hope he has control of the Cavan senior set up and might get something out of the team but a huge ask for him to keep Cavan in division 1 and I suppose this is his priority for 2019.
Forget the McKenna cup maybe use it to play all the potential new players and see what additions he has going forward.
As it stands it's a huge ask for any manager with Cavan to keep them in Division 1.

If Nickey can win a Leinster Club title with Mullinalaghta well he will have no problem keeping Us in Div 1. Because that was some achievement today Well done Mickey!

Well done to Mickey and his team winning the Leinster championship, I for one am delighted he is managing Cavan potentially the best manager we have had in a while, and with some of the players we have back in on the panel it's exciting times.

I suppose like Leicester winning the premier league two years ago.

Taking nothing away from Mickey's achievement let's hope he keeps the dream going and wins the All Ireland with them but a huge ask for sure.
As for keeping Cavan in Division 1 it's another huge task ahead of him for they and Roscommon are favorites for the drop. Outside chance one might stay up with Mayo dropping down as they have been knocking on the door.

If Mickey gets the right players playing direct commuted football like Mullinalaghta played yesterday well then anything is possible.
So refreshing to see a team go forward st every opportunity while defending in numbers when needed.
He had the balance spot on. Hopefully that same balance although it might take a year or 2 to implement will be what we have been missing this past 10 years.

Yeah, survival in Div 1 is possible.

Kerry will be without the Crokes players when we play them and they tend to be vulnerable in the early stages of the league. We should have beaten them last year.

Monaghan is always a tight game and we owe them a beating, likewise Roscommon. Mayo are always a bit of an unknown quantity, at any time of year.

I wouldn't write off any of the other 3 games, especially a Dublin team potentially resting players in the final round.

There are points to be picked up. We got 4 last year with a poorer squad (and manager) than we seem to be assembling this time around. We'll drop some where we will feel we shouldn't but I can see us picking up some unexpected points too.

Does anyone have a full list of the players currently training with the county?
And which Cavan players are expected to start for their college teams in the next few weeks?

So we got 4 points with a poorer squad and manager, yet you're asking if anyone have a full list of the current squad. How do you know this squad will be any better if you dont know what players are in it? The manager is entering his 1st year as a manager, going up against some of the biggest teams in the Country, so its a massive test.

How many times have we thought we could beat Monaghan and Roscommon but didn't.

So please cease with this nonsense already of predicting who we can beat and how many points we can get. Let the new manager do his thing and lets see what new ideas he can bring to the squad and lets enjoy it.
