Kathleen Fitzpatrick (nee McDonald) moved to Creeny in 1940, having been born in Keanny, Butlersbridge in 1917. She always had a keen interest in everything happening locally, especially the Rory O'Moore's gaelic football club. She enjoyed all the club's endeavours and success over the years -attending matches both home and away in her younger days - and was Honorary President at the time of her death. The club helped form a Guard of Honour at Kathleen's removal.
