The late Terry McKiernan was a highly respected member of the community and his death following a short illness caused much sadness and sorrow. He starred on the Cormore team that won the Cavan JFC in 1957 and later served Lacken Celtic as chairman for three years. Both Arva and Lacken GAA clubs provided Guards of Honour at Terry's removal and the coffin was draped in the club colours.
