John Joe Lynch (Mullagh)
Great sadness was evident in Mullagh and in his native Oldcastle, County Meath following the passing of John Joe Lynch in September, 2011. Having moved to Mullagh in 1979, John Joe established a thriving business there in Lynch's public house. A big admirer of Cavan great Mick Higgins, John Joe won a Meath championship medal with the Loughan amalgamation in the 1950s - a team featuring players from Oldcastle, Kells and Carnaross.
