The passing of Jimmy McConnon from Main Street, Shercock on December 13th, 2010 left a deep void in the town. Jimmy worked at Gypsum for 44 years and he was a stalwart with Shercock GFC for many years, He was instrumental in the club's renaissance in 1975 and was a selector when the club captured its first ever championship four years later.
