The Killann Shercock area said farewell to one of its most-respected elder statesmen with the passing on Sunday, May 1st, 2011 of Philip McIntyre, Corravilla. Philip always took great pride and delight in his family's achievements and he closely followed the fortunes of his sons when they lined out for Shercock GFC. The club provided a Guard of Honour at his funeral, along with members of Fine Gael Cumann.
