Colm passed in January and it came as a huge shock to all that knew him despite battling a very serious illness. He had played football for Cornafean in his early playing career before lining out with the Kildallan club in the First Ulsters' full-back line. He would always have a soft spot for Cornafean though and when the Reds captured the junior championship in 2000 he was present at the celebrations in McSeains. Brian was always a keen follower of the county team and in the last hours of life he listened to the Northern Sound commentary of Cavan v Monaghan in the Dr McKenna Cup. He will be sadly missed by his wife Mary, daughters Charlotte and Alanna, sisters Pauline and Brenda and brothers Declan and Brendan.
