James, better known as Jim, was a popular member of the Cornafean club and very rarely  missed a game down through the years. Jim was a county council employee most of his working life and his death saw a minute's silence held at Cornafean's game against Butlersbridge the following Saturday evening. At just 59 years of age, he fell ill on Good Friday and died on Easter Monday (March 28th) in Cavan General Hospital.
