Rev. Patrick Donohoe was born in Derryheen, Butlersbridge in 1932 and was ordained into the priesthood in 1956. His first appointment would be in Korea, where he spent 23 years, and he continued his travels around the world to the United States and Jamaica before returning back to Ireland in 1991. His final appointment saw him spend a further 18 years at St Columbans in Magheramore, Co Wicklow. During his youth he had been a brilliant defender on the football field with Cavan Slashers and St Pat's and his passing at St Vincent's Hospital in February was sorely felt by those close to him.
