The entire Killygarry community and much further afield were left deeply saddened by the death on October 16th, 2016 of Peadar Conaty. Peadar was a real family man, who took over the family farm at a young age and spent all his life in the family home in Killygarry. He became an integral part of the local community, where his main interests included Poles Co-op, Cavan Mart. Killygarry GFC, Killygarry Community Centre and Killygarry Church - he served all of these bodies at committee level. An active member of the IFA, he was a keen supporter of both the club and county football teams. Killygarry GFC and Poles Co-op formed a Guard of Honour at Peadar's funeral.
