Tomás Ó Sé believes Glenn Ryan was wrong to blame referee Jerome Henry for Kildare’s exit from the Sam Maguire Cup race.
The Kildare manager claimed the Mayo match official was “out of his depth” and questioned why David Gough – who was on linesman duty – wasn’t in charge after his side’s narrow loss to Monaghan last Saturday.
"There were fouls that were given at the very start of the game, that weren't frees at all, they played fairly legitimate tackles, and then as the game went on, it felt like he was trying to balance it up," Ó Sé said on The Sunday Game.
"There were fouls that should have been given that weren't given, but did it cost Kildare? I wouldn't say that. It was on both sides.
"I don't think you can use it for an excuse for losing because it was poor on both sides, but it was definitely one of the worst performances I've seen in a while."
