2002 All Ireland winning full-back Justin McNulty has given a fascinating insight into the levels of preparation in Armagh ahead of their famous final victory over Kerry.

In a wide-ranging interview on ‘Live with Jerome Quinn’, which encompasses his current career as an SDLP MLA in Stormont, McNulty picks the Best 15 he has played against and explains why Armagh were ‘sharp’ for the 02 Final.

"The new pitch in Croke Park had no grip, boys were slipping all over the place, so I got my Dad to get studs sharpened on our boots by a machinist for the Dublin game. Several of the boys had them and I kept them for the Final," explained McNulty.

McNulty kept Dara Ó Cinnéide to one point from play in Armagh’s 1-12 to 0-14 success.

The full interview will be broadcast this evening, Friday February 26, at 8.00pm on the Jerome Quinn Media Facebook page. Camera production by Mark Quinn.
