One of Armagh’s most famous football families is gearing up for two Ulster finals in the coming weeks.

The Mackins from Camlough are set to have a big say in the destination of the Ulster senior men’s and ladies football titles. Ciaran and Connaire are part of Kieran McGeeney’s squad that meets Donegal on Sunday week, while their sisters Aimee and Blaithin – who will return to their AFLW club Melbourne Demons later in the year – will also face Donegal in the ladies decider a week later.

And the siblings are eager to make amends for last year’s provincial final defeats to Derry and Donegal.

"It’s exciting. If you can’t enjoy it, there is something wrong. These are the games that we would have gone to when we were younger, to be part of it, and for the boys to be part of it, is brilliant,” Aimee told reporters after being named PwC GAA / GPA Player of the Month for March.

"There could be advice, or criticism sometimes as well. We all go to each other’s games. It’s what we enjoy. We probably do bounce off each other at times."
