We wish former Cork football star and RTÉ analyst Tony Davis a happy retirement from An Garda Síochána.
Sergeant Davis, who was Anglesea Street Garda Station's Crime Prevention Officer, was a star defender on the Cork team that won back-to-back All-Ireland SFC titles in 1989 and '90. He also won seven Munster SFC medals and one National League medal with the Rebels and an All-Ireland SFC club medal with O'Donovan Rossa in 1993.
After hanging up his boots, the Skibbereen man was a familiar face on The Sunday Game from 1995 to 2013.
TweetMy last day working as a member of An Garda Siochana, some leave to take, 36 years ago this week I came to Cork. Thanks to all my colleagues current and past and most particularly the people of Cork, another big challenge facing us, listen to health professionals stay safe, Slan
