Sad County Final Without The Gaels

Tomsmith here Walking down Breffni Lane wont be the same for a lot of people who have become accustomed to the Gaels being in County finals. Indeed it is often said that Country Clubs coming into Cavan Town tat the sight of the 50 K limit signs strikes fear into them. Indeed Indeed I often heard it said that supporters coming into the Big Town of Cavan would put on ones Sunday best in case a Picture would appear in the Anglo Celt. Tomsmith here As we near the end of 2023 I wish all posters well, and indeed to junior posters and indeed to posters who have limited knowledge of Cavan football I say keep reading all posts including Tomsmiths intelligent posts. Without your contributions at alower level we senior Posters would not be as knowledgeable about affairs away out in small Country Clubs whose players have limited ability to ever make the Senior County Final. You're wrong. Our league and championship comps are not coupled. Arva were poor for a few years. Hence their relegation to Junior. Tomsmith here I hear that the Gaels team is being strengthened going into 2024. While we have lost afew players since alst year ( one going travelling one stepping out with anon Gaa person) and a few injured. Tomsmith here First let me congratulate Cross on winning the Cavan senior Championship.. Its great to see a country team made up of local fellows come into Town and won agame. Indeed I seen some of them stay and go into Pubs before going back out to the country after the game. As someone remarked things have changed when country fellows are not overawed by the Town lights. Back to the game Ramour were not at the races at all and indeed the sight of their supporters leaving with10 or indeed some left with 15 minutes to go it was sad . I do feel that for Cavan County to be successful you need big Town teams to do well, teams like KingsCourt , Ramour and of course Cavan Gaels all handsomely have contributed to previous \|Cavan County teams winning Ulster titles tomsmith (Cavan) - Posts: 3982 - 22/10/2024 10:20:04 2576310 Link
