Walking down Breffni Lane wont be the same for a lot of people who have become accustomed to the Gaels being in County finals. Indeed it is often said that Country Clubs coming into Cavan Town tat the sight of the 50 K limit signs strikes fear into them. I do hope that who ever wins it Gowns or Kingscourt that victory will be by a good standard of football. no off the ball stuff and no poor decisions by players or Officials .

Well it has been good for the past twenty years sure to dominate Cavan Gaa Club scene was wonderful and as I often said for Country clubs coming into the big Town on match day to face the Gaels sure many were already on a looser.. Indeed Indeed I often heard it said that supporters coming into the Big Town of Cavan would put on ones Sunday best in case a Picture would appear in the Anglo Celt. That was the age that Country people lived in

You a bit off with the 20 years dominance. Have only been in 2 finals the last 9 years.

As we near the end of 2023 I wish all posters well, and indeed to junior posters and indeed to posters who have limited knowledge of Cavan football I say keep reading all posts including Tomsmiths intelligent posts. Without your contributions at alower level we senior Posters would not be as knowledgeable about affairs away out in small Country Clubs whose players have limited ability to ever make the Senior County Final. Best of luck to the Gaels in 2024 and I hope to be stepping down Breffni lane on County final day wearing the Blue of the Gaels with pride

not a great day for the gaels minors to be honest lads. nice for them to get that far but another promising club team trips up near the end line. no silverware for a cavan club is the headline unfortunately. be nice if arva can bring something in but we will be reminded of their league pedigree and why it should dictate championship grade etc etc. always a begging asterisks over a cavan win.

You're wrong. Our league and championship comps are not coupled. Arva were poor for a few years. Hence their relegation to Junior. They won the championship on merit and it shouldn't be devalued by anyone.
I hear that the Gaels team is being strengthened going into 2024. While we have lost afew players since alst year ( one going travelling one stepping out with anon Gaa person) and a few injured. But I understand we are getting afew more in

Surely you being such an institution at the Gaels, you'd be in the know a bit better..
