I've actually no problem with lads opting out. Intercounty football isn't for everyone, it's a big commitment, but it's about time others realised that and supported the lads that do have the willpower for it."
Yep, good point.

And for all the talk of lads missing, if Donegal had Odhran McNealais available the last 2 years, they'd be even further ahead of the chasing pack in Ulster and our task Sunday would be an even more monumental one.

We're not the only team "missing" players and to be honest, we've been largely fortunate with the low injury count among the actual panel.

that was unbelievable from Cavan. Well done. you did us proud. to come from 10 down at one stage to be 3 up near the end was some effort. We dominated midfield in the second half and it wasn't just GMAC and Galligan . It was Gerry Smith, Chris Conroy, Ciaran Brady, martin Reilly on others who put their bodies on the line. Fortune too. I shouldn't really name check individuals as they ALL stood up to be counted. It was a joy to watch. If only we could have been there to cheer them on but to be fair the subs and the backroom team did a great job of cheering them on and motivating them. I dont agree with another poster who said the season will be a failure if we dont beat Donegal. I think it is a success to reach another ulster final. it might also be important if the rules for the sam maguire and the second tier competition state that div 3 and 4 teams who get knocked out of the championship next year go into the tailteann cup UNLESS they reach the provincial final. QUESTION.. does this rule apply to previous year or current year ?. Anyway it's a good achievement to reach the ulster final from the preliminary round. Are we the only team in the country who have so far won 3 championship games this year ?.

Now for Donegal.. they are a great team and streets ahead of what we have faced in the league of championship this year . Realisticall they should beat us by 10-15 points. So we have to up our scoring rate big time. Our average so far is 14 scores per game which will never be enough to compete with the likes of Donegal. We averaged 17.75 in ulster last year. We scored 2:16 in the final and still lost by 5. Basically we need to score about 4:15 to win. So that's the task facing us.
