Look. If we aren't confident of going in and doing a job on Antrim then what's the point?
We're better than Antrim. We need to start developing a mindset that reflects that. By all means take no opponent for granted, but back yourselves to perform well enough to get the win.

Nobody here is expecting to cruise by Antrim, many would accept a 1 score win. Its ulster championship football, We will rightly be favourites given our respective league postions over the last few years but nobody is getting carried away.
Definitely get the feeling a few of the 'cavan fans' on here get more enjoyment from a cavan loss.
We wont be winning and all ireland this year and we wont be winning ulster, get behind the lads who are there committing busting their balls for the jersey

They should offer their services to the Antrim county set-up. They'd be great motivational speakers for any opposition Cavan face.

I've never accused anyone of not supporting Cavan, but the pessimistic outlook is draining, and if any of the players were to see or listen to the stuff written on here (and it does happen), that kind of attitude has every chance of seeping through to the squad itself.
I was all for not taking Antrim lightly. But I thought we'd have enough to win by 6 (if TED had gone for goal and scored it would've been 6). They were useful but extremely blunt up front apart from their full forward.
We won playing well below our best. If another county had done so, you'd hear "thats the sign of a great team", "they won't play that badly again" etc.

Beat Villa 3-0 away while Villa beat Liverpool 7-2.
We drew with Monaghan in normal time, same as Meath. . .again, why focus on the negative angle when you could bring that result up instead?

If they still come on knowing that fact then I would suggest they can stomach what they read and maybe are just trying to get a feel for what the supporters think, or to see if Sean O has any news on Finbar Crowe's or availability for the weekend given shortage of live goal threats in the current squad. They can read the "Best of luck to Mickey & the lads" stuff in the Facebook comments.
I have already given my thoughts and proposed changes for the Down game before the Antrim & Fermanagh games ("Good Predictions there Pat"), so I don't think I need to make any further comment ahead of the weekend apart from to give my score prediction and a few longer odds tips which those who enjoy a bet will obviously be interested in after hearing about my big Cavan/Down double coming in there at the weekend.

17-16 to Cavan who you tipped to come from behind at HT to win by the 1 point in a close affair. I don't know how you do it. Whatsmore, you more or less had 4 from 4 there with the tips with Mooney setting up Down's first goal, and Faulkner being the 60 minute MOM if right was right. Madden was certainly the second half Man of the Half, but Faulkner shaded him on an overall basis and will get an All Star now.
Looking forward to next weeks tips.
