Didn't take long for false hope and naivety to take hold. All last years failings forgotten and it taken as a given that we would beat the winners of Armagh or Down. LOL. PatTheDandy (Cavan) - Posts: 356 - 12/10/2018 10:28:31 2146178 Link 0 |
Well Patthedandy read my post nothing negative about it and once again confronted. Shame????????? It's the easier route as well don't you think. ?????

At least our new manager has a bit of sense. As he recently said, let's forget about winning Ulster and concentrate on winning a game in Ulster! BreffniGuide (Cavan) - Posts: 474 - 14/10/2018 18:50:26 2146483 Link 0 |
Of course Monaghans form is better than ours. A blind man would know that. But if we can start playing a bit of attacking football and not this zonal defensive s@@te maybe supporters will start supporting the steam again. We are well use to losing around Cavan but the manner in how we lose that's p*sses off supporters. At least if Mickey gets them to have a go it will be half the battle. So Monaghan it is. TheBlackDeath (Cavan) - Posts: 74 - 16/10/2018 14:00:23 2146794 Link 0 |
This is probably the best draw that Cavan's new management could have got. Donegal or Tyrone are realistically out of reach but the other 'top 3' Ulster team simply hate playing us (you could see this in McManus on the night of the draw). It is a shot to nothing for MGraham. No expectation and a lot closer contest than the outside media would think. Remember, this opponent always gives a so called weaker team a chance. Management have to drill that hard all spring. First priority is obviously the league but I would 100% take relegation and a win here. Look Monaghan are a better team than us but it will be a cold day in hell when Cavan lie down and take that against our neighbours. There are a lot of things we can do to be ready for them in the summer and give ourselves a chance of beating them on the day. They will be favourites and rightly so. fredflint (Cavan) - Posts: 1485 - 17/10/2018 09:40:35 2146922 Link 0 |
Obody should have to be coaxed back. If players are not interested enough in wearing the jersey we'll leave them where they are regardless what kind of a reputation or status they might think they have. If Mickey can get them playing an attractive type of game where there's enjoyment for both players and spectators well we will be half way there. I agree Monaghan are better than us . We nearly caught them a few years ago in the 1st round in Breffni only for some poor management decisions when we were a few points up. Mickey has been around. He's been an inside forward himself and I'm sure an inside forward going back to his own 45 to pick up a pass will not be part of his tactics. Argue, David Wright and Thomas Galligan would be three good midfield options. I heard Niall McDermott is going travelling so he won't be back in but would like to see Jack Brady involved. Niall McKiernan, Conor Smith (when back from injury), Gerry Smith would be good additions too. BreffniGuide (Cavan) - Posts: 474 - 17/10/2018 21:22:32 2147028 Link 0 |
Want to see Joe Dillon Junior back involved and big Liam Buchanan who missed pretty much all county football this year through injury ramor101 (Cavan) - Posts: 289 - 19/10/2018 12:45:08 2147237 Link 0 |
