Cavan community rocked by tragic death of talented young hurler

Tributes have been pouring in after the sudden and tragic death of a young hurler from Cavan.

Cillian Boyle died suddenly on Monday and in an emotional post his local club Kill Shamrocks GAA posted:

"It is with a heavy heart and great sadness that we pass on our deepest condolences to the Boyle family on the untimely passing of our dear friend and teammate Cillian.

"A true gentleman and someone who will be greatly missed in our community.

“Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.”

Neighbouring clubs Drung, Sherock and Cootehill Celtic also posted tributes to the former the former St Aidan's Comprehensive student this week and, having played hurling with Cootehill, the latter club wrote:

“It is with a heavy heart and great sadness that we pass on our deepest condolences to the Boyle family on the untimely passing of Cillian. A very talented Hurler for Cootehill Celtic GAA.”

Meanwhille the parish of Drumgoon posted: "Condolences:. Our sympathies and prayers are extended to the family and extended family of Cillian Boyle of Campstown, Cootehill,

"Our heartfelt thoughts are with Michéal and Maria, Katie, Ciara and Darragh, Grandparents and extended family at this sad time.

"Eternal Reward Grant onto Him O Lord

"May Cillian Rest in Peace, Amen."
