Matthew Twomey has stepped down as Cork senior camogie manager less than a month after delivering the O’Duffy Cup.

The Douglas clubman spent two years in charge, during which he guided the Rebels to back-to-back National League and All-Ireland finals. But after losing the 2022 National League and All-Ireland finals to Galway and Kilkenny respectively, and this year’s League final to Galway, Cork’s perseverance finally paid off when they romped to victory over Waterford in last month’s All-Ireland decider.

“I want to thank you all for the opportunity and privilege of managing the Senior team over the last two years,” Twomey said in a statement.

“It has been the highlight of my sporting life.

“It was a pleasure working with you all and to enjoy the success on the 6th of August. This will stay with me for the rest of my life.”
