Eugene Cullinan felt Inagh-Kilnamona's fast start was crucial to their impressive Munster club SHC opening round win over Glen Rovers.
The first-time Clare champions didn't look out of place in the provincial arena after a dominant first half performance at Páirc Uí Rinn helped them to a 1-21 to 1-14 victory and a home semi-final against Thurles Sarsfields.
"Coming down here to Cork is no easy feat. You've got a journey to deal with, you've got a new field, you've got a new referee. There's a lot of new things going on. Our first time in the Munster Club Championship," the Inagh-Kilnamona manager noted in an interview with RTÉ.
"[We] made a really good start, we were delighted with that. Got a lead. Maybe got a sucker punch of a goal there before half-time but, within reason, kept that little gap all the time, and we're just delighted just to get over the line to finish.
"I give a lot of credit to the Glen. They only really had seven or eight days to prepare for this game, and they really threw the kitchen sink at us.
"But it can't be easy, it's a very quick turnaround. You know, we all like to celebrate when we win a championship.Winning a Cork or a Clare championship is not easy so you're entitled to your bit of celebration when you get there.
"They gave us great respect, and we give them great respect."
