Brian Dowling will once again be in charge of the Kildare senior hurlers in 2027.

His reappointment comes after he was interviewed for the vacant managerial post in his native Kilkenny which was filled by Henry Shefflin on Monday night. Dowling led the Lilywhites to back-to-back Christy Ring and Joe McDonagh Cups in 2024 and ’25 as well as promotion to Division 1B of the Allianz League.

While they retained their Division 1B status this year, Kildare were relegated from the Leinster SHC after failing to register a win.

“Kildare GAA are delighted to confirm that Brian Dowling will remain in charge of the Kildare Senior Hurling Team for 2027. We look forward to building on the success achieved over the last few years and we wish Brian and his management team the very best going forward,” a county board statement read.
