Limerick defender Dan Morrissey says it “will be full steam” for both teams in this weekend’s Munster senior hurling championship final.

The Treaty men are set to line-out in their eighth consecutive decider in the southern province when they look to dethrone Cork of the Mick Mackey Cup at Pairc Ui Chaoimh on Sunday (throw-in 2pm).

Speaking to RTE Sport, Morrissey says there’ll be no holding back, with an All-Ireland SHC semi-final place also up for grabs at the Cork venue.

"It will be full steam for both teams," he said at the launch of the 2026 World GAA Games.

"Both will be going out to win it. Last year people were saying Limerick and Cork would meet in an All-Ireland and it didn't turn out like that. There are four other good teams out there but we just want to win this Sunday.

"An All-Ireland semi-final won't be an easy game after that but we'll look at it as three games left in our season."

He added: "Ourselves and Cork will be going all out to win it on Sunday. It has definitely stood to us in previous years when we have won Munster, and going the direct route into an All-Ireland semi-final is the way we want to go again this year."
