Armagh midfielder Jarly Og Burns says “the hunger is still there” for the Orchard men to get over the line in the Ulster senior football championship final.
Kieran McGeeney’s side booked their place in the Anglo-Celt Cup decider last Sunday by crushing Down with a 3-33 to 0-14 win in Clones where they are set to return next Sunday week to play in their fourth consecutive provincial final.
Monaghan, who had a thrilling win over Derry, now stand in Armagh’s way of a first Ulster SFC crown since 2008 and, speaking to BBC Sport NI, Burns said that they will leave now stone unturned against the Farney men.
"We've been here three times, we've had experiences, but not the experience of winning it yet," he stated.
"The hunger is still there and very much in the semi-final, our wants had to be higher than theirs [Down's].
"We still want it and we'll be leaving no stone unturned in two weeks."
On the team’s injury issues, which currently include defender Ross McQuillan and midfielder Ben Crealey, Burns added: "It's next man up and you know there's players waiting in the wings, waiting for an opportunity and they're taking it. Look they are huge losses to this team and leaders but, again, that's what's all about.
"You're waiting in the wings for an opportunity and when it comes, you have to take it, or you'll be back of the line."
