Cork put four goals past Galway earn a 4-22 to 0-22 victory at Páirc Uí Chaoimh tonight and move into the Allianz Hurling League Division 1A final against Tipperary.
Pat Ryan’s side never looked back from the moment Brian Hayes hammered in their first goal in the ninth minute to put them into a 1-4 to 0-4 lead.
After that, Darragh Fitzgibbon’s brilliantly taken goal in the 17th minute had the Rebels well and truly motoring as they moved towards a 2-12 to 0-12 half-time lead.
The opening half had also saw the home side’s talisman Patrick Horgan becoming the National Hurling League’s top scorer with his point in the 10th minute in what was his 95th league outing for the Leesiders.
Horgan would add a goal to his tally two minutes into the restart and he’d tack on a couple more points prior Tim O’Mahony’s goal putting the margin between the sides at 14.

Galway sent over a couple of late points but would lose out by a dozen in the end, as Cork now look forward to a league final showdown with old rivals Tipp in two weeks’ time.
The Premier men had already booked their place in the Division 1A decider prior to the last round of games and this evening’s clash against Clare in Thurles in would see them pushed all the way to the finish, with Darragh Stakelum point at the death proving the difference in a 0-22 to 1-18 victory for the hosts.
In the TUS Gaelic Grounds, already relegated Wexford recorded their second win of the campaign by defeating a much-changed Limerick side on a 1-19 to 1-12 scoreline.
The sides were honours even 10 minutes into the second-half when Lee Chin burst through the Treaty men’s defence and set-up Kevin Foley for the net and, from there, the points of Seamus Casey (2), Cathal Dunbar and Rory O’Connor ensured the morale-boosting win for the Slaneysiders.
