Cork's '99 heroes to be honoured at Croker this afternoon

The 1999 All-Ireland winning jubilee team will be honoured at Croke Park this afternoon an hour ahead of throw-in.
Cork won their 28th All-Ireland SHC title on September 12, 1999 thanks to a 0-13 to 0-12 win over Kilkenny before a crowd of 62,989 at Croker.
Rebels legend Jimmy Barry-Murphy managed the team to victory that day and will lead out those to be honoured at headquarters at 2.30pm to mark the 25th year anniversary of that famous win.
Present Cork manager Pat Ryan and his backroom team members Brendan Coleman and Wayne Sherlock were apart of that panel in ’99 but, of course, will not be waving to the crowd as they look to mastermind the county’s first Liam McCarthy Cup triumph in 19 years with victory over Clare.
