Niamh Carmody is the new Kerry ladies football captain.
The Finuge St Senan’s player takes over the captaincy from Siofra O’Shea as the Kingdom bid to go one better than in 2022 and ’23 when they lost All-Ireland finals to Meath and Dublin respectively.
Louise Ní Mhuircheartaigh of Corca Dhuibhne and Southern Gaels’ Anna Galvin will be vice captains. Carmody will skipper Kerry for their first time in their Lidl Ladies National League opener against Dublin on Saturday week, January 20.
