Jack McCarron and Shane Carey scored late frees to hand Scotstown a dramatic 0-17 to 1-13 extra-time victory over Trillick at the BOX-IT Athletic Grounds and a place in the Ulster Club SFC final against holders Glen.

In an absorbing contest, the sides were level seven times before the Monaghan champions finished the stronger to reach their first provincial decider in five years. Trillick held a slender 1-4 to 0-6 lead at the break after James Garrity intercepted a Rory Beggan kickout and set up Seanie O’Donnell for an injury-time goal.

The Tyrone kingpins looked set to prevail when Lee Brennan’s ’45 edged them ahead in the closing stages, but there was still time for All-Star Conor McCarthy to force extra-time where Scotstown finally gained the upper hand.
