Clare youngster Mark Rodgers single-handedly secured Scariff's place in the county senior hurling championship for 2023 with a staggering 4-14 haul in one match.

The UL Fitzgibbon Cup winner was on fire, bagging two goals in each half to give his side a 4-22 to 0-9 victory over east Clare rivals Smith O'Brien's in yesterday's relegation play-off at Dr Daly Park. 21-year-old Rodgers beat his previous personal-best score at senior club level, 1-18 against Clarecastle last year!

His fellow Clare forwards Shane O'Donnell and Tony Kelly were also in fine scoring form for their respective clubs at the weekend.
