Shanahan tips Maher to 'go places' with Laois

Dan Shanahan has given his biggest hint yet that he is set to be involved with the Laois hurlers next season by giving new manager Willie Maher a ringing endorsement.

The Waterford legend was part of Maher's backroom team in Bennettsbridge this year and speculation is rife that he will also be following him to the O'Moore County.

"He's honest, he's hard working, he's just everything to be the top," Shanahan said in an interview with Midlands 103.

"I've no doubt in my mind this man is going to go places. He's a real leader."
