A devastating 12-minute spell at the start of the second-half, which yielded three goals, enabled Kerry to regain the Munster SFC title, defeating Cork 4-22 to 1-9 at Fitzgerald Stadium.

The Rebels had the Kingdom on the back foot for large parts of the first-half as Brian Hurley's well-worked goal midway through it put them 1-5 to 0-3 clear. Kerry responded in impressive fashion, with Brian O Beaglaoich putting up their first green flag, and they turned that five-point deficit into a five-point half-time lead.

Peter Keane's troops took up where they left off on the resumption as Paul Geaney (2) and Sean O'Shea sauntered through the heart of the Cork rearguard to register further goals.
