The redevelopment of Casement Park won't be completed in time for the 2027 Ulster SFC final.

Named as one of the 10 host venues for the UEFA EURO 2028 Championships, Ulster GAA is confident that games will be played at the stadium in 2027, but not until after the Ulster final which takes place in May.

Ulster GAA Head of Operations Stephen McGeehan told BBC NI: "Pre-enabling works will continue over the next few months.

"The main contract of work will begin later in the year. Our target is to have the stadium finished around the summer of 2027 which won't be done for the Ulster final.

"However, we will be delivering a stadium that will need to have ramp-up events and test events that will take place later in 2027, with the full focus on being Euro and UEFA-ready for 2028."
