Cumann na mBunscoil Boys Football

Ballinagore 6-02  Castletown 3-08

We maintained our unbeaten run in this competition with a hard earned victory against our neighbours Castletown. This was a game of two halves with our boys playing all the football in the first half leading 5-02 to 1-01 at the break. Castletown put the game up to us in the second half with some great scores to claw their way back into the game leaving only one point in it. We struck for a goal with minutes remaining to give us some breathing space before Castletown got the last point of the game to leave us three point winners. Well done to both teams on serving up a very sporting and competitive game in very muddy conditions. Team: Denis Rigney, Conor Robinson, Aaron Jackson, Luke Sinnamon, Patrick Maloney, Hugh Carey, Luke Robinson, Conor Ward, Gavin Ennis, Rhys Gavigan. Subs: Peter Daly, Karl Murtagh, Josh Hynes.

Scór na nÓg Semi Final

We had four acts taking part in the semi-final of this years competition in Milltown on Sunday afternoon. First up was Jemma Seery in solo-singing. Jemma was followed by Shane King in recitation. After the break, we had our Léiriú Novelty Act team of Shane King, Emma King, Jemma Seery, Emer Claffey, Peter Daly, Arianne Daly, Caoimhe Geraghty and Aoife O'Brien. Finally we had our instrumental set consisting of Ellen Daly, Anne Reynolds, Emma O'Brien, Rose Macken and Seán Macken. It has to be said that all the hard work paid off on Sunday as every one of our performers were in top form and they have all qualified for next weekends County final. Well done to all and also to their mentors - Joanne O'Brien, Breda Daly, Shane Heraty, Mark and Aisling King. Well done also to our question time team of Peter Reynolds, Philip Reynolds, Cathal Kelly and Niall Claffey who qualified for the county final on Friday evening in Streamstown. Ballinagore, Bunbrosna and The Downs all came through Friday evenings round and these three will now contest the county final which this year will take place during the main Scór finals. Well done to the lads and their mentor, Shane Heraty. The Scór county final takes place next Sunday, 1st December, at 2pm in The Downs and it would be great if we had a good turnout of support to cheer on our talented kids.
