St Pauls Clonmellon notes

May 21, 2018

Junior team

Our Junior Footballers welcome the visit of Moate All Whites to Clonmellon in round 4 of the League this coming Wednesday evening at 7:30pm. While not make your way down to our Club grounds in Clonmellon to cheer the lads on as they continue their preparations for the upcoming Championship season.

Club Lotto

Please support our Club Lotto as this supports the day to day costs of running the club. Club lotto envelopes can be got from any of the local shops and pubs, at Bingo on Monday nights or from any of the committee members. The Lotto draw takes place every Monday night during bingo in the local Community Centre. The Cost is just €2 a ticket. Currently the Jackpot stands at €2,780. There was no winner of last weeks jackpot where the winning numbers were 7,8,10 and 25. 20 euro winners on the night were Sinead Owens, Marie Gilmore and Angela Douglas - well done to all.

Clothes & clobber collection

The clubs fundraising clothes & clobber collection is still running so start collecting those bags of unwanted clothes, blankets, curtains etc, bring them into the club grounds any Monday or Friday evening between 7 and 8pm and we will gladly take them off your hands. If you are not in a position to bring your donations into us, you can contact us on 0876965313 and we will come to your house and collect it. This is a vital fundraiser that keeps our club ticking over so please support.

Dunnes Stores Mullingar Bag Pack

St. Pauls GFC held a very successful fundraising bagpack in Dunnes Stores, Mullingar on Friday and Saturday last with a total of 26 of our club committee members, parents of Juvenile players and adult players all volunteering to help over the 2 days. With the help of these people, vital funds were raised which will go directly into keeping our club operational. So a big thank you to the following who made our bagpack such a success - without your help & support with such fundraisers our club would simply cease to exist.

From our committee we had Marie Clarke, Mick Muldoon Barry Duffy, Feichin McCormack and Barry Clarke all helping out over the 2 days. Parents of Juvenile players Valerie Higgins, Aishling Smith-McCabe, Veronica Kiernan, Cait Tormey, Nuala Clarke, Karen Browne, Ann-Marie McGuinness, Emer Finnegan, Teresa Clarke, Annette Farrell, Marie Walsh, Franky Muldoon, Maria Duffy and Michelle Usher also helped in a big way. Thanks also to Meaghan Dolan who represented the ladies club and finally to the lads off the Junior team - Kenny Higgins, Conor Slater, David Whelehan, Johnny Fitzpatrick, Ronan Kiernan and Mick Murphy who we're sure had more interesting things to do that pack shopping bags for 3 hours on a Sunny Saturday afternoon! Thank you again to all who made our bagpack such a success.

Juvenile details

U-16 Football Result
Final score from last Saturday evenings game with Multyfarnham - St. Pauls/Delvin 3-6 Multyfarnham 2-14. After a slow start the lads put up a very good fight in second half and played well but it just was not their day. The score at half time was 0-3 to 1-8 to Multy so they outplayed the opposition in second half which was promising.
