Waterford ladies footballer Michelle Ryan has brought the curtain down on her 19-year inter-county career.
A daughter of former Waterford and Westmeath hurling manager Michael Ryan, the 34-year-old was one of the game's top forwards of the past two decades. Success came early in the form of National League and Munster senior championship medals in 2002, and she went on to win seven Munster intermediate medals as well as an All-Ireland intermediate title in 2015 when the Deise secured their ticket back to the senior ranks.
At club level, Ryan has been a star performer for Ballymacarby who have a won a remarkable 38 county titles in-a-row.
