Tyrone manager Mickey Harte has backed the move to ban overseas training camps.
Speaking to the Ulster Herald, Harte stated that the training camps abroad take up a lot of the players’ time, which is already in great demand throughout the year.
The three-time All-Ireland winning manager added that a training camp in this country is less demanding at the players if it is timed right.
“When you’re away, you’d feel you’ve got to put so much into this. I wonder how you can put so much into consecutive days,” asked Harte.
“I feel a few days in Ireland at the right place and the right time is just as beneficial.”
