Thomas McCurtains club notes

September 04, 2018

It was a dissapointing week for the footballers. Unfortunately they could only manage a draw against St Brendans in thier final Championship game on Tuesday evening. That draw coupled with Neasden Gaels win over Eire Og the following day meant that they were knocked out of the Championship at the group stage. They had a chance to make amends on Saturday afternoon as they took on Neasden in the Division 2 League Final but it wasn't to bee as they came across a very good Neasden side. Despite 2 early goals from McCurtains Full Forward Conor Murphy to leave them ahead after 15 minutes Neasden prooved too good and ran out winners by 8 points.

It was better a better weekend for the hurlers as they recommenced their Championship campaign with a fantastic win against Fulham Irish. Goals from Jimmy Byrne, Craig Doyle, Mark Russell and two from Conor Hogan made sure that the result was never in doubt.

Next weekend the Ladies Footballers are back in action after the summer break with a League fixture against Round Towers. This is currently down for Greenford on Saturday morning at 11.00am but it is to be confirmed. The Hurlers continue their Championship against Fr Murphys on Saturday in Ruislip, while the Reserve Footballers are out against Round Towers in their first Championship game.

Our underage hurlers will be attending Fr. Murphys blitz in Greenford on Sunday morning. We wish them the best of luck.
