Donaghmore club notes

November 11, 2019

Thoughts and Prayers:  The club, both players and members continue to offer our thoughts, prayers and support to others in the club and community dealing with sickness and bereavement. There is a mass for our local deceased on Tues 19th November  which will be offered for our members and players no longer with us. Please attend.

Training and Fixtures:

The U13 season wrapped up on Sunday with an away game to Dungannon.  Well done to the lads and thanks as always to the coaches and parents.

The phenomenal U16 season ended with the trophy they so richly deserved.  Unquestionably the best team in the county this year the lads beat a dogged Carrickmore side 2-11 to 1-07 in Galbally on Saturday.  Well done lads, definitely a big part of the club’s future. Thanks also to the huge team of coaches who managed this massive panel over the 2 teams.  Special thanks also to Joe Faloon at ‘the Dome’ for supplying the lads with Pizzas on their triumphant return to the club.

Youth presentation night:  An exceptional year for our youth teams so plenty to celebrate. Also a great opportunity for parents and coaches to have a catch up. Refreshments will be served. Due to clashes with other events the date has been changed again.  Please check social media for confirmation.

Ladies youth: look out for our winter programme for U8’s/u10’s on Sunday morning at 10am in the Torrent sports hall.  Great weekly workout for the girls where they get a chance to continue improving their football skills and building in their teams. Also a great chance for any enthusiastic parents to dip their toes in coaching lead by our ladies senior players.

Boys youth: Fun and skills are the aim of the indoor sessions. Continuing for the next 4 weeks; 6:30pm for P3/P4’s and 7:30pm for P5/P6’s.  Charge is £5.

Wee Pats: The ever more popular Wee Pats continues every Friday from 6:30-7:15pm.Suitable for Nursery to P3 ages.  Under the stewardship of some of our senior footballers, thanks lads. Running for 5 weeks at only £1 per night.

Scór na nOg: Another great night for the Scor group last Friday when they saw the ballad group, instrumental and recitation all qualify for the county final on Nov 24th in Galbally @3pm.  All support welcome.  Another great opportunity for our youth (U17’s) to get together, meet new friends and express their talents.

Irish Class: Our beginner and intermediate classes continue Tuesday’s 7pm for beginners and 8pm for intermediate.

Upcoming Events: Please look out for the Club AGM provisionally set for Sunday 1st Dec.  Also the Club Presentation night which is provisionally set for January.
