Donaghmore club notes

Back to School: Go raibh maith agaibh to the many coaches and volunteers who helped out with camps of all descriptions over the summer holidays.  A daunting but exciting time for those starting new schools whether its P1, Year 8 on Uni. Ádh mór in the year ahead to all our students.

 

Culture: We have students of our own starting back to irish class and we are really looking forward to hearing more irish around the club and village. Thank-you to those who have registered already. Beginner and intermediate irish class start on Tuesday 17th, September.  Beginners at 7pm with intermediate at 8pm. Classes are one hour and are designed to go at a pace that suits all. Training and Fixtures:

Senior and Reserves: Championship mode for everyone in the club. Donaghmore V Killyclogher this Sat 7th Sept at 2:45pm (in Carrickmore). Part of a double header with Beragh and Loughmacrory playing at 1pm. Ádh mór to players and management. It would be great to see a sea of blue and gold in Carrickmore cheering the lads on.

 

U6.5’s; U8/U10 Boys: Monday night coaching sessions continue every week at 6:30pm. Final few weeks of the season for these football mad youngsters.  Thanks to all the parents, especially those who help with the coaching.  Great year had by all. U12 Lads: Coaching continues Mon 6:15 - 7:30pm and  Wed 6:15 - 7:30pm. U16 lads: 3A  had a good win V Stewartstown last week and played Rock on Mon 2nd Sept. An important few games with Brackaville later in the week (details TBC) and Derrylaughan on Saturday (details TBC) as the lads try to defend their top spot in the league. 1A had a strong win away to Moortown last week and play Ardboe (away on Thurs 5th at 7pm) in a massive top of the table game.  Coaching continues Sundays at 10:30am. Keep an eye on social media for confirmation of fixtures and results. 

 

Francis Donnelly Tournament: is next Sunday 8th Sept. P2-P7 Ladies: Coaching continues Mondays at 6:30pm. Again these sessions are in the final few weeks.  Sincere thanks to all the parents and coaches for your continued support of this energetic age group. U12 Ladies: Training continues on Sundays at 11:30am. Rd10 of the Go Games season is home  to Moy on Wed 4th Sept at 7pm. U16 Ladies: suffered a disappointing defeat to Omagh last week and now face Edendork on Tues 3rd Sept at 6:30pm at home: then St Macartans next Sunday 8th at 5pm both at home in Fr Eamon Devlin Park.  Good luck girls.  Senior Ladies: bowed out of the Championship to big rivals Cookstown.  That brings the senior ladies first season back in the top flight to an end.  A respectable season on reflection and a good platform to build on. Thank you to the girls for the hard work and as always a special mention to their management for their motivation, commitment and hard work.  Looking forward to 2020 already.


Thoughts and Prayers: The club, both players and members continue to offer our thoughts, prayers and support to those in the club and community dealing with sickness and bereavement.
