Former Fermanagh manager Dom Corrigan has stressed that any talk of Mickey Harte being replaced is ridiculous.

On the Sunday Game last weekend, former Tyrone footballer Sean Cavanagh suggested that it was time for Harte to step down as Tyrone manager after 17 years in the position.

In a roundabout way, Owen Mulligan stated the same in an opinion piece the following day, while the likes of Joe Brolly hasn’t been a fan of Harte’s for some time.

However, Corrigan who has been involved in Tyrone club football for a number of years, is adamant Harte should stay on in the role.

“I have been involved in Tyrone club football for almost a decade, so I feel like I am in a position to comment,” Corrigan states in the Ulster Herald.

“I strongly disagree that Mickey Harte should go. He needs to be there for another year. They have some very strong players in place and if he can bring in some more, the likes of Darragh Canavan, Mark Bradley and Lee Brennan then they will improve. They are quality forwards there that he can bring in.

“It is the wrong time to talk about Mickey moving on and looking for a new manager.”
