Tipperary captain Seamus Callanan has hailed Liam Sheedy’s energy, describing him as “an unbelievable manager”.

Sheedy returned to the Premier County’s hot-seat for a second stint 11 months ago and this Sunday sees his team set to line-out as favourites against Brian Cody’s Kilkenny in the All-Ireland SHC final.

Callanan, who has notched 7-16 for Tipp so far this summer, says the Portroe deserves huge credit for the team’s progression to another Liam MacCarthy Cup decider.

“Liam is just a bundle of energy. He gives you 110% every night,” Callanan told the Kilkenny People newspaper.  “He probably does as much running at training as any of us!

“Liam in 2010 and any of us panel members from 2010, we’re all different to what we were back then. And the games itself is different. The game has evolved some much that you can’t compare. It’s not like for like. Everything about it has evolved and changed, a lot of factors have changed.

“Liam is an unbelievable manager. He’s a great guy. It’s an exciting few weeks ahead and thank God we’re back in Croke Park for the final.”
