Tipperary manager Liam Sheedy admits that losing their last two NHL matches is not the end of the world.

Sheedy has stressed all along that the league would be used to get his team in shape for the championship and that they will take it one game at a time.

Following an impressive win over Clare in the opening round, Tipp have lost their last two matches to Limerick and Wexford, setting the alarm bells ringing amongst some of their supporters.

This is certainly not the case for Sheedy who is happy with the side’s progress despite the two defeats.

“We’re just playing it match by match,” said Sheedy. “Against Limerick and against Wexford we went out with the intention of trying to win the game, but it’s not the end of the world if you don’t.

“If you asked me what makes it more pleasing it’s the way we are approaching games and the way we are applying ourselves.

“I think you have to have seen a real drive in that jersey that I am really impressed with, and we are showing flashes of our play that is very good.

“We’re still on a steep learning curve, we have a bit to go and we’re far from the finished article. We’re ten or eleven weeks out from where the real fun and games will begin.”
