Big congrats to club Donnchadh O’Brien from Rosses Point who won gold in the boys under 16 pitch and putt competition at the national community games finals in Limerick. A good way to limber up for the remainder of the hurling season Donnchadh! Congrats also to another Rosses Point golfer, Meabh McLoughlin who won gold in the girls competition.
Commiserations to our club players who were part of the Sligo team who lost their women’s All-Ireland intermediate football semi-final to Tipperary last weekend.
Our women’s intermediate footballers are busy preparing for their county final against St Michael’s on August 31st. The game will be played in Kilcoyne Park, Tubbercurry. Throw-in time tbc.
Our senior men’s footballers continue their senior championship campaign this Sunday evening with a Group 2 game against Coolaney/Mullinabreena in Curry at 6pm.
Saturday morning nursery coaching for girls and boys aged 4-10 resumes after the summer break this Sat 24th, at Rathcormac NS. Session times are as follows:
Players born 2013, 2014 & early 2015: 9:45am to 10:30am.
Players born 2009 0 2012: 10:30am to 11:30am. New players are always very welcome.
The boys under 16 gaelic footballers play Tourlestrane in their championship quarter-final on Monday evening at 7pm. Our girls under 16 footballers continue their championship campaign next Monday 26th with a home game against Eastern Harps at 7pm.
The girls U14 footballers had a comfortable championship win against Tourlestrane last Monday evening, on a final scoreline of 8-21 to 3-8. The team have one more round-robin match (v Eastern Harps). A win there would ensure a county semi-final against Eoghan Rua.
Benbulben Gaels under 14 hurlers had a good 2-9 to 2-3 win against Western Gaels last week.
Our boys under 12 division 3 footballers will replay their semi-final with St Mary’s at Kent Park this Thursday evening at 7pm.
