Roscommon manager Anthony Cunningham admits that they are ‘fighting for their lives’ as they prepare for a ‘battle’ against Galway in the next round of FL1.

The Rossies gave it their all against Dublin at Dr Hyde Park last weekend, but came away from the game with nothing.

With two rounds of the league to go, Roscommon are third from bottom, one point ahead of Monaghan and Cavan.

A local derby against Galway is next on the cards and Cunningham told the Roscommon Herald that they need something from the game.

“We’re fighting for our lives. It’s going to be some battle down in Pearse Stadium,” stressed Cunningham. “But we’re going to be ready for it on Saturday week.

“We have to win our last two matches and that’s the concentration point for the week. The learning points from the Dublin game we’ll take with us, and work hard for the week ahead.”
