Doohamlet club notes

September 11, 2019

Seniors:  Doohamlet played their final home game on Sunday last against County Champions Scotstown and both teams served up a goal fest.  Neither side will be happy with their defending with Scotstown scoring six and Doohamlet hitting the net five times as both sides attacked and forwards scoring at will.  Barry McGinn was first to raise a green flag with a fine effort before Scotstown found their range and threatened to annihilate the home side.  To their credit Doohamlet fought back with two goals and two cracking finishes from Oisin O’Neill and Jamie Walshe had us right back in the game.

The second half continued as the first with some excellent scores from both sides.  Scotstown are a class team and showed all their quality as they emptied their bench and with the result never in doubt Doohamlet fought gallantly till the end with Colin Walshe and Barry McBennett netting for Doohamlet and both players with Declan Walsh and Barry Mc Ginn adding points to close the scoring.  No shame in losing to such a quality side and Doohamlet should be proud of their performance.  Final Score  Doohamlet 5-08  Scotstown  6-13.  Doohamlet final game is away to Ballybay.
