Decisive fixtures

There were a number of games played last night in the various divisions of the reserve football leagues, the results of which should determine the pairings in  the various semi finals that are fixed for Wednesday evening next. This weekend the action again concentrates on another round of matches in the Shoe City senior, the Monaghan Electric intermediate and the Euro Tech Junior football leagues where points are vital, both at the top and the bottom of each of the three league tables.

In the Shoe City senior football league tomorrow evening Friday, July 19th, Currin are at home against Carrickmacross, Doohamlet are away at Inniskeen, it’s a local affair between Latton and Ballybay in O’Rahilly Park, Truagh travel to Castleblayney and Clontibret play host to Scotstown, with all those games timed for 8.00 PM.

In the Monaghan Electric intermediate football league, all games at 8.00 PM tomorrow evening Friday, Monaghan Harps are at home against Cremartin, Donaghmoyne are away at Corduff, Magheracloone host Aughnamullen, Tyholland travel to Killanny and Sean McDermotts have home advantage against Emyvale.

In the Euro Tech Junior football league, again all games at 8.00 PM tomorrow evening, Killeevan are at home against Clones, Eire Og are away at Scotstown, Drumhowan host Blackhill, Oram travel to Rockcorry and Toome have home advantage against Aghabog.

U19 F.L.

This Sunday, July 21st sees four games in the under nineteen football league, Donaghmoyne are at home against Latton and Aughnamullen are away at Carrickmacross in division one, while in division two. Scotstown host Castleblayney and Monaghan Harps take on St Patrick’s in Ballybay, those four games all timed for 2.00 PM.

Wednesday next, July 24th sees the semi finals in the various divisions of the reserve football league, but the only pairings that can be confirmed at the time of going to press are the two semi-finals in division three, Clontibret at home against Oram and Scotstown with home advantage against Castleblayney, both at 7:30 PM.

HURLING.

The most recent round of matches in the senior hurling championship saw Carrickmacross defeating last year’s county finalists Inniskeen by four points and Truagh with eight points to spare against Clontibret. The current round which is timed for 8.00 PM this evening Thursday, July 18th sees Clontibret at home against Carrickmacross HC and County champions Castleblayney HC hosting Truagh and the results of those games could give a fair indication as to who will be contesting the latter stages, in both the championship and shield.

U17 H.L.

This Sunday, July 21st there is our round of matches in the under seventeen hurling league for the Mick Hannon Cup, Castleblayney HC at home against Cuchulainns HC, Monaghan Harps H C at home against East Cavan Gaels and Carrickmacross H C playing host to Cootehill Celtic, those three games all timed for 11 AM on Sunday morning.

Monday next sees two games in the under sixteen hurling league, both at 7:30 PM, Monaghan Harps HC at home against Castleblayney H C and Carrickmacross H C away at Truagh.
