Fundraising Draw: As you maybe aware the club are running a fundraising draw this year with proceeds going towards the development of a new training field adjacent to the ones that are presently being used.  Tickets for our draw cost €20 each or 3 for €50. Prizes are as follows Top prize of €5000 followed by Holiday to Europe, Tickets and overnight stay at an Ireland Rugby International and also ticket and overnight stay to a Manchester United Premier League game and also overnight stay at the Allingham Hotel Bundoran and the club would sincerely like to thank the following people who have sponsored towards our fundraising draw i.e. Nally Brothers Ltd, Lough Egish Motor Factors, Tusker Ltd, Ward Consultancy Services Ballybay, Platinum Tanks, Mourne Shooting Range, Mc Elvaney Waste & Recycling & Dignams Castleblayney. Many thanks to all the people who have bought tickets from inside our parish and outside our parish. Also many thanks to all those who have sold tickets however there is a need for more help to make sure the draw is a success so we are calling on our Senior players, parents of our juvenile players, supporters etc to come out and help with the draw and make it a success that it can be.

 

Seniors: The Seniors played at home to Emyvale on Wednesday night( last night) check social media for details

 

Reserves: The Reserves played away to Emyvale on Friday evening last and came away with a good result winning by 4-18 to 1-13. Aughnamullen led from start to finish and it was encouraging to see all their scores on show with Aughnamullen leading at the break by 3-08 to 1-07. This trend continued throughout the second half and they ran out comfortable winners. Next game is this Friday evening at home to Killanny at 8pm best wishes is extended to team and management

 

Under 17: The Under 17 team suffered their first defeat of the year when they were beaten by St Marys na Mullai in smithborough on Sunday morning last losing by 4-08 to 1-08. in the first half the home side were in control and led at the break by 1-03 to 0-04. in the second half the home side scored a couple of goals to go 6 in front and held out until the final whistle. Next game is not for a few weeks

 

Under 15: The U15 played Drumhowan in Round 2 of the Cup Competition on Wednesday last in Drumhowan. This was a game where they were well beaten on the night.  Next game is on Monday evening next at home to Inniskeen at 7.30pm best wishes is extended to team and management

 

Under 13: The Under 13 team played Killanny in Round 3 of the Cup Competition on Saturday last and were unluckily beaten on a score line of 3-16 to 4-11. This was an excellent game of football from start to finish with the home side getting in front in the final few minutes. In the first half the sides were level on a number of occasions however Aughnamullen's ability to score goals was evident and the led at half by 3-6 to 1-8. In the second half the home side scored a number of fine scores to reduce the arrears and they hit the front with a couple of goals but credit to the Sarsfields they came back fighting with a goal off their own but Killanny stood firm to run out winners. Next game is the championship which is set to start on the 27th July more details later

 

Under 11: The Under 11 next game in the development league is a home game against Donaghmoyne on the 13th July. More details in next weeks issue

 

Under 7 - Under 9: There was a blitz held for these group of players last Thursday night in Aughnamullen. The level of skill and enjoyment was clear to be seen and the future definitely looks bright with our up & coming stars.

 

Summer Camp:  Final Registration call for Aughnamullen Summer Camp takes place this  Saturday morning from 9.30pm - 10.30pm at Aughnamullen Social Centre.  Costs are €30 for member and Non Members are €45 and the camp runs from the 6th to the 9th of August. The Summer Camp Committee has stated Saturday is the final date for registration.

 

Ladies Football: Reserves had a great win over Killanny last Friday which leaves them in a semi final of the reserve league. Minors were defeated by a strong Donaghmoyne side last Thursday. Hard luck girls. U12s had another fantastic win last week beating Doohamlet 10:07 to 2:02. Upcoming fixtures: Seniors play Scotstown in the first round of the championship Thursday 4th July at 7.30pm in Aughnamullen. All support welcome. U16s play at home against Magheracloone Monday 8th July at 7pm. Minors play at home to O’Neills Thursday 11th July at 7pm. The Ladies Committee would like to thank everyone for their generous donations to their church gate collection amounting to €739 last Sunday. They are very grateful for all the support and generosity.

 

Congratulations: Congratulations is extended to Eileen Fox Lurgangreen & Brendan Loughran Oram who got married last week. To Davinia Conlan Mullinary & Conor Brogan Co Mayo who got married on Saturday last.

 

Aughnamullen Social Centre: The Blessing of Graves takes place this Sunday after Masses in Carrickatee & Lough Egish respectively. If any families or individuals would like to book food or lunches following the ceremonies can they contact Ollie Morrisey on 0877766441 not later than 10pm Thursday night(tonight) thank you.

 

Parish Tractor Run: The Parish Tractor Run has been set aside for Sunday 21st July. This is a wonderful occasion for the parish and all support is needed to make it a success again this year.

 

Hard Luck: Hard Luck is extended to Tiernan Duffy & the County U20 team who were beaten in the ulster championship on Sunday last

 

Bon Voyage: Bon Voyage is extended to Michael Bannigan on his travels to the USA hopefully it will not be long before he is back wearing the blue jersey.

 

Finally: Finally well done to neighbours Drumhowan who won the All Ireland Feile Div 7 Championship in Co Mayo on Sunday last.
